‘The Mandalorian’ Star Giancarlo Esposito Says Marvel Is A Likely ‘Next Step’

The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito thinks that making the move into the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a likely next step for his career.

While fans eagerly await the second season of The Mandalorian to see more from Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, the star explained that he thinks the next step in his career would be to land a Marvel role. Earlier this year, Esposito teased fans with what to expect from the Star Wars show, as he revealed he’s broken a number of Darksabers during some of the stunts. But if Esposito gets his way, he could soon appear next to the Avengers or even against them in a Marvel movie.

Giancarlo Esposito recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about playing the main villain in Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 when it arrives in 2021. Esposito also opened up about the constant discussion online that he’s taking a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying that he isn’t behind those rumors. The star explained that he actively wants to work with Marvel and even worked with Marvel Studios Co-President Louis D’Esposito on Francis Ford Coppola’s Cotton Club back in 1984. He pointed out that he thinks it’s “the next step for me…”

“Well there’s been all these rumors about being with Marvel, I want to work with those guys. I put it out there all the time. I haven’t created any of those rumors, but I worked years ago with Louis D’Esposito, who’s one of the guys at Marvel, back when he was doing Cotton Club and I was doing Cotton Club, he was the First A.D.. What they do is fantastic, and I want to do something enduring with them… I think the Marvel world would be, likely, the next step for me…”
