New TV spots for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings show off new footage of Simu Liu in mystical action sequences.
Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is less than two weeks away from hitting theaters, and early reactions to the film are very positive. The film stars Simu Liu in the titular role, and will introduce audiences to the newest MCU hero.
Three new TV spots for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have been released. The first one, titled “Breath” teases Simu Liu’s protagonist on his Hero’s Journey, looking back on his origins leading up to his inevitable return to his childhood home as he confronts his past:
The second TV spot, titled “Burn” focuses on the troubled father/son dynamic between Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and Tony Leung’s Wenwu:
The third TV spot, titled “Next Level” showcases the power of the Ten Rings, in which Michelle Yeoh’s Jiang Nan tells the protagonist that the Ten Rings are more powerful than anything in his universe. Footage of Thor wielding Mjolnir, Iron Man flying and the Hulk follows, teasing the true significance of the Ten Rings:
Marvel Studios is going all-in with its final marketing push for Shang-Chi, and the new TV spots showcase that the MCU is building up the Master of Kung Fu as a significant figure in the franchise for the foreseeable future.

“Simu Liu stars as Shang-Chi in Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.”
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script written by David Callaham, the Marvel film stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung, Ronny Chieng, and Dallas Liu. The upcoming movie will hit theaters on September 3, 2021.
