Alfred Pennyworth actor Jeremy Irons has admitted that he still hasn’t seen Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League.
Jeremy Irons first appeared as Alfred Pennyworth in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He reprised the role for Justice League and was set to appear in more DC Extended Universe films before the whole endeavor semi-collapsed in on itself following the film’s underperformance. While the Zack Snyder version of the DC Extended Universe is likely dead the director was able to set the record straight with his cut of Justice League which turned into a big hit for HBO Max.
Jeremy Irons has stated in the past that he thought the original cut of Justice League was dreadful. Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League has since been available on HBO Max and on Blu-Ray and DVD but, for whatever reason, the Alfred actor still has not seen it. In a recent interview with Variety the actor admitted that, while he talked to Snyder about it and was interested in what he came up with, he somehow skipped watching it:
“Strangely, I think I have it and I haven’t seen it. I shall have to hunt it out and see if I have it somewhere online or on a DVD. I remember talking to Zack [Snyder] before he did it and being very interested to see what he came up with. It couldn’t have been worse.”
Here is the synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and streaming exclusively on HBO Max. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the DC Extended Universe and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
