‘Aquaman’ Star Jason Momoa Says Hawaii’s TMT Protesters Will Be Cut Off From Social Media

Aquaman star Jason Momoa says Hawaii’s TMT protesters will get cut off from social media soon.

Jason Momoa has recently been protesting the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope atop the Mauna Kea volcano in Hawaii. The Aquaman actor’s last update said that even though the peaceful protesters were proving how important the issue is, the TMT construction is likely to go ahead. But in a new message on Instagram, Jason Momoa says that the protesters are likely to be cut off from social media once law enforcement step in.

While the situation clearly isn’t improving for the TMT protesters, the Aquaman star is committed to keep talking about the issue. The construction site on the Mauna Kea volcano is sacred to Native Hawaiian religion and culture, which is why the Aquaman star is so dedicated to defending it. But Jason Momoa is worried that the conversation about the construction of the telescope will stop when the National Guard cut off satellite and tower systems to stop the protesters from accessing social media. Read his latest statement below.

Last month, Aquaman star Jason Momoa visited Hawaii to protest the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope. Jason Momoa was joined by many other Hawaiians protesting the construction of the TMT. His Justice League co-star Ezra Miller was also there.

An Aquaman sequel is currently in development at Warner Brothers, with Jason Momoa returning as the DC Comics icon. Scheduled to be released in theaters on December 16, 2022, Aquaman 2 is being written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, one of the writers behind Jason Momoa’s first cinematic solo outing as the character. James Wan is expected to return to the director’s chair after he completes a horror project for New Line Cinema.

Jason Momoa was last seen in Aquaman. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Jason Momoa and the future of the DC Extended Universe!
