‘Aquaman 2’: Amber Heard Posts BTS Photo Of Mera

Amber Heard has posted a brand new behind-the-scenes photo of Mera from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is ramping up to be one of the most special films coming out of the DC Extended Universe. Currently filming in the United Kingdom, the film sees Jason Momoa returns as Arthur Curry, the rightful ruler of Atlantis. Plot details on the sequel are slim, though the title suggests Curry will be going on an Indiana Jones-like adventure.

It was recently revealed that Jason Momoa had tested positive for COVID-19, though he appears to be in good spirits and recovering well. Other cast members like Amber Heard’s Mera seem to be okay. Filming appears to be continuing as Momoa quarantines until he tests negative. To keep spirits up, Heard has shared a brand new behind-the-scenes photo of her character Mera, Arthur’s love interest and warrior in her own right.

The Aquaman sequel will expand upon Mera’s role in Atlantis, as well as her relationship with Arthur Curry. Her plotline will also likely discuss the fallout of her no longer being a princess as her father King Nereus no longer commands Atlantis.

Here is the synopsis for the first Aquaman film:

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.

Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set to hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
